Comment Friday: April 6

Haven’t heard about Comment Friday?

Comment friday is a fun and simple idea. Leave us a comment about anything you want. By leaving a comment, you will have your blog visited by me, and you may even get a link out of it. I will select a blog from the comment list to be linked to and have their link on our blogroll, until next friday.

As comment friday becomes more popular, you are also going to get a few hits. Not only am I visiting blogs, but other people are checking you out as well. If you are hosting your own comment friday let me know. Its a great way to get interaction with your readers and we could promote eachother.

Last friday we chose bobbarama as our winner. This week our goal is 30 comments, and by then we will have our new winner. It could be you!

Don’t forget about our two running contests, blog review competition and rss feed subscription contest.

I’m glad to see the increase in comments as of late due to our contests, so keep it rollin’ on our Comment Friday!

A comment party. I will leave a comment here, but I don’t need to win this time. Ha ha…

You left me the most delightful link last week even without winning.

So, I am good, but I love the comment Friday Idea.

I had some discussion a while ago about site feed numbers and whether to display or not display. I have two dedicated readers. I couldn’t possibly take down my subscription number widgets without insulting those two readers.

I mentioned this to Matt. Matt subscribed, and since then my subscriptions have soared to between 5 and 6.

I suppose either a few stranglers unknowingly clicked the wrong buttons, or a more reasonable explanation is Matt brought the magic with him.

Either way, thank you for subscribing.

I’ve been subscribing to your site feed since I found this blog some time ago.

Yesterday Matt mentioned to me that StumbleUpon generated a ton of hits for this blog. Thankfully Matt stumbled my website sometime early yesterday and the results were amazing! I have been averaging about 60 unique visitors with around 120 page hits a day, and yesterday I got “stumbled” big time. I received around 400 unique visitors with about 500 page hits. Stumbling does a great job of getting people to your site, at least for about ten seconds. So, this proves that as long as I provide good quality content up front and in your face, then stubmling can pay off with new readers on a consistent basis. I have enlisted the help of the Blog Doctor to work on the “wow” factor to keep these stumblers on my page for more than 10 seconds! Feel free to “stumble upon” GiveawayProject.com!

      Thanks Matt!

Hey has anyone got any good reason why not to use feedburner – I’ve got a feeds plugin that gives me the stats on the amount of people reading via my rss feed and I like the idea of not going through someone else’s site. The only thing is it’s not as detailed (doesn’t break down types of feed etc).

hmmm…you’ll visit my bloh huh? that can’t hurt. Just foldered your site in my blog bookmarks as i sift through a bunch of places finding which ones i’ll come back to. You’re in the helpful utilities category. That may sound kind of dull, but ‘blog’ sounds like a cancer of the ass – which doesn’t seem to have harmed its popularity.

But Comment Friday can run for a week, or until the forum closes, so here’s a timely comment.

It’s entirely appropriate that we in ‘the West’ celebrate Easter with painted eggs, chocolate, and an imaginary rabbit. These things have as much to do with a well-intentioned guy getting silenced, tortured and murdered by imperialist powers as the actions of the modern church have to do with any of his central messages. This Easter, there’s plenty to get cross about. ๐Ÿ™‚
