Join the iReply Revolution
Have you ever commented on a blog only to find that the blog owner has simply ignored you? It’s no different than sitting down in front of someone and asking them a question and then they walk away without uttering a word.
Rude, wouldn’t you say?
Well, me and a couple of my blog friends (Brown Baron of Brown Thoughts and Mike of Ordinary Folk) have come up with a new concept promoting communication between bloggers and their readers.
What’s this new concept of yours?
It’s called iReply. We know that sometimes it’s hard to reply to every single comment to a post, but that’s not what this is about. Instead, it’s about showing your readers that you acknowledge their existence. And when you do that, they’re more inclined to return AND interact.
What do I have to do to join?
If you’re already interacting with your readers, then you’ve achieved the goal we have in mind here. But posting the image to your blog will be a unique way of informing your readers that you encourage them to leave comments and that you’ll do your best to respond to them.
Where can I get that logo?
Just download it from this post (don’t link to the image, please; linking to this post is just fine though!). Here’s another one with a white background if you prefer.

The innovative idea of iReply is equally beneficial for any affiliate program that aims to keep the communications channels open and smooth among various diverse communities. In the era of affiliates marketing, where it is utmost important to maintain swift communication of affiliate information, the inception of iReply is really a blessing.

I see you’ve gotten over that “shy” thing.
hehe

whyd you put “dont link to it please”?
June 30th, 2007 at 11:46 pm
Ah, that’s because I didn’t want to have heavy loads of traffic calling that one image from various places. That seems to be the customary thing to do — not use the address of the original image, but downloading it and then using it from one’s own server. Servers have been known to crash or ISPs getting upset if an image is being pulled from many different directions.

@Jeanne: thanks for your support! It’s great seeing all the positive responses this campaign has received in such a short amount of time.
@Daniel: Hi there, Daniel. Very simple, actually. If you wish to let your readers know that you value their opinions and encourage their feedback, one of the ways to show that is to post the iReply badge to your blog. But this is NOT a requirement. In fact, it has always been about bloggers interacting with their readers. And if you already do that, then you’re really already a member! I appreciate your support in whatever way you think is appropriate for you.

Hi Vic, I appreciate your support. Thanks so much!

I think the ireply movement was a good idea, but I have commented on numerous blogs that are part of this movement only to find that they are NOT replying.
September 29th, 2007 at 6:13 am
@Rose: Hi Rose. I’m sorry to hear that. What ever experiences you’ve had must have had a strong impact to cause you to leave the same comment on several blogs posting about iReply. I should clarify that this movement is strictly voluntary and is not a formal group. As such there’s no enforcement or signup, just bloggers doing the best they can. I’d like to think that your experiences are few and far between and were the result of the bloggers having a tough time managing their workload. So I hope your view of iReply will get better soon. I appreciate your comments.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:33 am
@Mark- It is sad when those who started the program don’t reply.
September 29th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
@Rose: Well, I’m one of them and I’ve replied, and I know Brown Baron has responded to you as well. That leaves my other buddy that I’m certain would do the same, so I’m hoping there’s some mistake.
September 29th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
Mark you haven’t replied to my most recent comments. “wink” Mike must be busy.

@Rose: out of respect to the good people here who have subscribed to comments on this post, please visit my blog, MeAndMyDrum.com, and use my contact form there. That way I can try to address whatever it is about iReply that you have a concern with. Thanks for your time.

we dont have the “ireply” badge on this blog but I love that a majority of our authors to reply to comments
November 15th, 2007 at 11:38 am
Bloggers who reply to their readers comments usually have much more valuable blogs because the readership is there and is consistent. Without readers a blog is useless, so love your readers and they will love your writing…
I love the idea of the “ireply” movement. We should start a blog roll or something so we can all be listed together. I want to find more “ireply” blogs…
November 16th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
@Talina
I’m glad you like the idea. Hmm, I’ll have to give the idea of a community blogroll more thought. Sounds interesting. For now, I’ll be you can find the iReply blogs by simply Googling them.
