I agree Crystal, if someone could afford several advertorials, wouldnt there be penalties on google for the same content? Especially if it was on a "bad" website

I appreciate your great comment and I definitely have to agree. If I were to ever accept an advertorial, I would be very careful with it.

As well, I dont see how beneficial it is to an advertiser, unless they offer a shady product. If I am gonna pay 100$ for a review, or even 400$ for a John Chow, I would want them to write the review, not me the advertiser.

As a blogger and an advertiser, I don't think it is a great idea because of the "same ad every where" aspect. I think, SEO-wise, it will hurt the blogger more then the advertiser because you are using content that is not unique at all.

I also think that readers will see right though it. First of all, loyal readers get used to your blogging style, and can tell when you didn't write something yourself. So, they will be able to tell that the review is someone elses opinion other then yours. T

he main benefit of being reviewed on a blog, other then links, is having that outside opinion. After you blog for a while, you develop a readership and earn their respect for your opinions and "expertise" in your area. So, a review that they can tell you have done, and have been honest about will be treated with more credibility then a review that sounds like a "copy paste".

To many "copy paste" type reviews will not only lower your credibility with your readers, but may lower the credibility of the advertiser as well.

I think I would look into it but I would be VERY careful with it. As an advertiser, I would be very choosy as to which blogs the ad was on, making sure it really meshes with their style. As a blogger, I would have to be really picky as to what ads I accept for the same reason.

I do this on another site and i really like it. its really simple. I just cut and paste, links and title and all and i get 5 dollars each time i do it. it takes less than 15 seconds. I can't complain about that.

Your welcome mark, I blogged about it before I received the email, I may add what they wrote in their email.

I had to laugh when I read it though.

"We think our RM Advertorial will revolutionize the paid blogging world by giving advertisers complete control over their messaging, along with a branding opportunity and the reporting metrics they have come to expect with traditional online media buys."

Hah, I doubt it

Lucynda

There isn't much on the actual website, however they have sent out an email since I wrote this post. They do have a new image on the main page ReviewMe.com with Advertorials on there

Some would probably welcome this since they wouldn't have to do anything and still get paid. I'd rather write the review myself though.

I wonder if we'll see new kinds of opportunities that require an advertorial instead of the traditional review.

Thanks for explaining this better than the email I got about it this evening, Matt. I'm not so sure why they think this is a good idea. I supposed for a blogger that feels like they don't write well or something, but I would surmise that the vast majority of bloggers wouldn't relinquish control over their post like that.
