Comment Friday for August 17th

Itโ€™s another Comment Friday here at Blog about your Blog. Apologies for the late start.

The โ€œrulesโ€ are simple. Just leave us a comment about anything you want. I will select one commenter that really stands out to give a free link to, as well as a spot on our blogroll for the week.

Do you have what it takes to be the blog of the week?

Yesterday I posted about the release of Blog about your Blog T-shirts. Have you promoted your blog offline? If so in what way?

Don’t forget to “plug” your favorite articles. You don’t have to register to vote.

Hey first comment! No, I haven’t promoted my blog offline yet. Maybe I should.. I just figure once I am established in the online community, word of mouth will spread the word around! Nice effort with the t-shirt! ๐Ÿ™‚

I haven’t done anything to promote my blog offline other than talking to people about it. I was actually thinking of making bumper stickers or something of that sort. I don’t thing I would start doing that until my site is a little bigger than it currently is.

On Facebook it is SO much easier to remember to wish people ‘happy birthday’ – you’re reminded of friends with upcoming birthdays on your News Feed page, and it’s hard to miss mutual friends all sending birthday wishes at the same time.

I recently added the FB WordPress app, with weak response. I don’t do much with my FB – I don’t have a million pictures and apps, nor do I have a ton of people posting on my wall regularly. However, today is my birthday. My stats are rocketing! It’s a click-through-to-the-blog-fest!

So, to anyone with a WP blog but who does not like the FB app, consider adding it for the week of your birthday as a gift to yourself – a gift of blog traffic!

I’m always talking about my blogs, but mostly to my family and friends who don’t have a clue as to what I’m talking about.

It’s kind of funny to watch their eyes glaze over when I start talking about backlinks and sidebars, and things like that. They just stand there with these silly little grins on their faces and nod their heads. LOL

      Love the t-shirt.

I do most of my promotions online, it’s the only place I can go where people don’t think I’m totally nuts. LOL

Boo Hoo! My week of fame is over so soon!

I only tell people about my blog offline and only if they are lucky they will get one of my cards. Yeah…it takes luck. I have business cards made with just my name, phone number, and blog site. They are nice with pink paper and maroon ink and flowers in the corner.

I just got a free pack of business cards. I’ll use them to drop in some fish bowls at conferences and at local restaurants, to win a free meal. Today being my birthday would be a great day to win something ๐Ÿ˜‰

I haven’t done any offline promotion either. As a matter of fact, I don’t really even discuss my blogs with family or friends.

I think your new t-shirts look great!

I did not yet. But I am thinking about creating nice logo and then – put it on pens and small note books… T-shirts are good idea too, but I love all kind of office things (like pens, pencils, note books, calendars etc etc).

A coupla years ago, I bought a large box of high quality business cards with our 2Dolphins logo, URL, & email address on them. I hand those out pretty frequently. I also have some CafePress stuff (baseball cap, tote bag, t-shirt) that I use pretty often.

I’ve picked up several loyal readers due to my offline promo efforts.

I thought about custom packing the gummi bear prizes for MyBlogLog Sunday, but I would have eaten more than I packed.

      Good luck with the tees

When are you planning to give up your day job for modeling?

I’ve promoted my blog offline… I wrote the url of my websites on several Canadian $5 bills. It’s probably illegal though…

I’ve actually done more offline promotion than online. I talk to my friends and co-workers about my posts and the different things I talk about. I hand out business cards with one of my blogs addresses on them. My license plate has he name of another blog I post on as well.

I’m only getting started with my online campaigns. I’m trying to post as often as possible and submit my site where I can. But really the only regular readers I have are my family and friends.

Oops I’m late! Great looking shirt! I haven’t done any offline promotion. Like Christine said, people have a habit of turning into zombies once you mention blogs, seo, and the like haha.

What I do when that happens is to tell them, “Just wait til you put up your own blog. You’ll be asking me for backlinks.” hehehe
