I like that you don't have to log in. I hate logging in to a million things, so I don't submit sites to very many of the other social pages. I don't use them to find sites either though.

Plug isnt much. I do like you dont have to login to vote. It automatically submits every post I write, etc.

The only thing lacking is the amount of traffic it gives. Several visits per article, but as I mentioned before, its better than nothing

The one thing that keeps me from clicking on the DIGG button (many times) in sites and blogs, is the off-site gesture, i hate that. I don't have time to go to digg, then type all that stuff in their site, then head back to the site i was on. Too time intense. It was cool that i clicked on your PLUG button above, and voila! instant turnover. (easy and quick) I've not heard of PLUG and don't know what kind of return it gives, but i like the interface.

I'll look into it further.

Sounds good blogadollar. Thats a lot of bookmarking though. If you are interested in front page status I would work on promoting one of those

Tay- Yeah some of these sites are just pointless to keep on promoting and linking to

Great article, very eye-opening. After reading this I'm adding to my to-do list to fix my social bookmarking buttons at the bottom of my posts. :)

I'm planning to use digg / plugim / reddit / SU / MarkTD / Sphinn / Netscape / Slashdot / and more at the same time. I'm also planning to use forums extensively. All source of traffic are welcome. What do you think?

Thanks for the mention :) I'm not entirely sure I agree with you, I'm somewhere in-between.

While what you say that some traffic is better than none is true, readers only have 'so many clicks' for to you to play around with. They just don't click everything. Admittedly voting doesn't send them off site but if they feel they have helped you they are less likely to comment or click something else, which could be more valuable. That button also takes up a little space on the site, which could be used for something else.

I'm really looking for something in-between Digg and plugim. Something that is really great if you get on the front page, rather than a front page being a daily affair and it not really meaning much. If your average articles get to page 1, think what your best articles could do. A tougher challenge with a greater reward is needed!
