UTW seems useless as the tags pretty much solve the problem for you. I also think that the tags will help with the search engine rankings. I have about 750 plugins on my test blog, all work. Wordpress codex has a page of plugins that are not working, I suggest you check on over there. I haven't gotten into them just yet to know all the new features, however, I did notice the tags field on the new post page. Will that circumvent the need for something like Ultimate Tag Warrior?
