"months" is fairly critical. But then again I have bought a PR domain and flipped it with a couple of hours.

In terms of backlinks I use a whole host of sites. I have over 1000 domains which makes getting backlinks easy. But if you don't have a huge portfolio then directories are probably your best bet.

I really don't have the space here to go into more details but I promise to do a follow up with more precise info either on this blog or on my own at Marketvice.com

Thanks to you both.

Anthony, your original comment sounded as though it took only a couple of hours to flip the blog for hundreds. The "months" part is a critical component.

Can you recommend where to get these backlinks? I mean other than doing link exchanges with other bloggers (although that is important and should not be overlooked). I know of the directories we can submit our blogs to, but some of them are misleading leaving bloggers to think that they're going to get a backlink, instead they're nofollow.

By couple of hours work I mean installing the blog, adding original content and then placing a hell of a lot of backlinks.

You will then have to wait a couple of months for the PR, Alexa etc to increase.

Mark, just guessing, but by working on them just a little and waiting for the PR update, they are worth like 10x more than without one.

So websites with traffic and backlinks, and pr are definitely going to be worth more.
