I agree with Malin that it takes a lot of time, but I think that social networking is too important to ignore.

The problem is that I’ve been quietly making money online for years and I was even one of the first stumbleupon members back in the day. However, I ignored the social networking side of things until now. I wish I hadn’t! But now, despite a fully loaded schedule of client projects, I’m still trying to juggle in time to start building my profiles and network of friends online.

I think social media activities takes too much time, time that I don’t have. But hey, there is no doubt that it works.

Great post! It is so true that social media can put you on the map…take for example Vincent Ferrari’s recorded call with AOL when he was trying to cancel his AOL account. He posted the audio file and an accompanied post on his blog, submitted the story to Digg, and was interviewed on CNBC less than a week later. If the post is relevant, fun, funny, or interesting. That’s all it’ll take!

It’s so true how doing Social Media Activities can totally put you on the Map. It’s happened to many. And, like you say in this post…. not only doing Social Media Activities increase traffic to your site and to the sites you like, but it is also fun. So, it’s a win-win situation!!

It think it is becoming widely known that the top active users on the social media sites are the ones that get pages to the home page. Taking an active approach to this can on be beneficial. Now you just need to figure out how to squeeze it into your schedule
