i’d never heard of that comic strip before, but one of my favorite literary stories uses that line — dorothy parker was a member of the famous algonquin round table of writers, and she was feuding with clare booth luce for some reason. when clare opened a door for dorothy and invited her to go in first she said “age before beauty” and without missing a beat, dorothy walked right past her saying “and pearls before swine.”

Those are hilarious. I think the first one is funny, as it highlights clever content being the primary factor in standing out among blogging peers. The second one is funny because the swine assumes he’s going to make tons of money just by starting a blog. Thanks for posting these! I think I’m a new fan of this strip.
