I’ve read on other blogs that Google is never happy with text selling companies and does dump on your PR number.
I think paid reviews are more of a “down the road” option if a blog is less than 6 months old but they can really be a nice “extra” income stream.

One great way to get extra advertisers on your blog, is to just have an “advertise” page, in that page you describe why it is worth the time of the advertiser to advertise on the blog. On that page you gotta do a really good job of selling your blog, so that it looks attractive to advertisers so they go ahead and just invest their ads on your website so to speak =D

I like all of the ideas about finding advertisers for your blog in this post except selling text ads. John Cow lost his high search engines rankings for displaying this kind of advertising. After he removed the ads, Google put his blog back near the top of their rankings.
