Where Does Your Traffic Come From?
I was sitting here ruminating, as you do, and started thinking about traffic – well there are worse things!
I saw the BAYB stats for April and where the traffic came from. It’s an interesting subject and it’s also interesting that hits don’t always come from the areas that the ‘experts’ say we should concentrate our efforts on.
My own blog my top three referrers at the moment are:
1) Google Search Engine
2) Technorati Tags
3) Blogger’s Choice Awards
With the top two I do put in some effort, every now and again, with keywords and writing about ‘hot’ subjects that people might search for. The third place isn’t long term but it’s okay for now, and all for doing nothing.
So a question …
What are your top three traffic sources at the moment?
No doubt we could all learn something from what is happening on other blogs – unless it’s all hush hush, of course.
Okay that’s it for now, ruminating over.
Good luck,
Mike.

In April:
1. Reddit
2. Stumbleupon
3. seehere.blogspot.comThe third actually surprised me. Pushed Google down to 4th place.

I find virtually all the sites that I read from comments left either on my site or on other peoples site or on MBL.
See…Matt and Tobsy…I have visited you both now. LOL…

Thanks for the comments. From Tobsy’s top 3 I see that the 3rd place blog has had over 3 million hits – interesting!
May your traffic increase!
I’m now off on holiday to Spain for 2 weeks.

Nearly the same as the entries top 3 here:
1) Google
2) Technorati
3) YahooYahoo used to be second, but due to giving out Joost invites many people came in through Technorati. When stuff is free they suddenly all want a piece ;).

Google (especially since Images took off)
Stumble Upon
RealMacSoftware / MyBlogLog close 3rd/4thBut most telling (or is it most overlooked?) is that 25% of all traffic comes from the loads of blogs you network with, and probably without those multitudes, the traffic from sites like StumbleUpon would be insignificant.
