It’s Comment Friday with Lee!!!

Comment FridayAs you may know Matt is handling some family stuff right now so this week I’m hosting Comments Friday because it has become such a great institution and I, like you guys hang out for it each week (maybe that’s just Friday). I know that Matt’s goal the other week was 50 comments so it would be awesome if we could hit that mark for him!

and then I’m burning this place to the groundNow there was some talk over the last couple of weeks too of trying to put a theme together for each week so here goes:

What song do you always get stuck in your head?

Now it may be a song that when you hear it you can’t get rid of it or it may just be one that you think of often or it may even be the first song you thought of now!!! Twenty points if you can use it in a sentence as a bad pun.

If you don’t have one don’t worry (be happy) and feel free to leave a comment about anything!

JUST LEAVE A COMMENT AND HELP US GET TO 50!!!
(now my throat is sore!)

Since I’m hosting this I suppose I should get the ball rolling.

Two songs come to instant mind.

The first is Patience by Guns N Roses despite this not being anywhere near my favourite GNR song everytime I hear it I get the tune stuck in my skull and all I need is a little patience to get it out… (fine… groan).

The second song is Scotty Doesn’t Know from Eurotrip. I love it, I’m going to go listen to it right now. It’s a problem I know.

Song always stuck in my mind recently – Leave Right Now by Will Young. Don’t know why, but I would have a wired feeling when I think of this song.

Friday today, my B-DAY today, and I’m stuck at work: let’s say ‘to hell at work’ and I really want to ‘Leave Right Now’! :p

Good luck Lee with the 50 comments…

“Tie a yellow ribbon” by Tony Orlando! 🙂 Always hear it in my head when I get on the bus to visit my boyfriend who lives 5 hours away. May be one day I’ll see a yellow ribbon.

I’ve got bloody Kaiser Chiefs – “Everything is Average Nowadays” stuck in my head, but usually it’s something embarassing like S Club Juniors – “One Step Closer” (whilst it’s named the same as the Linkin Park song, it isn’t)

Rhys – It’s ALWAYS the embarrassing songs isn’t it!!!! Britney and Christina are frequent annoying addition to my internal soundtrack – at least it’s not the Spice Girls anymore.

Cheng Leng – that is a catchy tune – you should take a yellow ribbon and tie it to a tree somewhere along the way so you can see it when you do the trip – or tie it to your bag! :)

I have a 2 year old. My neighbors have a dog named daisy.

      Oh, the song.

Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do. I’m 1/2 crazy all for the love of you. It won’t be a stylish marriage, but you’ll enjoy the carriage upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.

That verse, I don’t even know if there is another verse to this song. I can sing this verse over and over in my head though all day with or without my little girl.

      ….It won’t be a stylish marriage,
      We cant afford a carriage,
But you’ll look sweet upon the seat
of a bicycle made for two?

And even worse than a bad song, I have had the William Shatner advert going on in my head for days now. Ouch, there it went again. Priceline negotiAtor.

OK. I didn’t have any song stuck in my head until you asked what song we always get stuck in there. Then I just started to sing:

When I wake up well I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who wakes up next to you
When I go out yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who goes along with you

Come on, everybody sing with me. . .

      I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked 1,000 miles
To fall down at your door

Today I seem to have Panic At the Disco’s I Write Sins Not Tragedies going through my head in a continuous loop! Lord only knows why other than I heard it rather recently and it has apparently gotten stuck between some gray matter in my brain much like a popcorn kernel might get caught between the gap in my teeth where the crown has moved away from the tooth to the right of it. Okay, maybe that’s more analogy than anyone wanted but it’s true!

And when that one stops for a moment or two I then start to hum bits and pieces of Seize The Day by Avenged Sevenfold. Oh well, at least they’re semi-current and popular songs which has got to be better than having A Bicycle Built For Two stuck in my head! “Oh Daisy, Daisy …” ARGH!!!

By the by, I stopped over via The Pisstakers!

The song I find stuck in my head more times than I care for is “I Shot The Sherriff” by Bob Marley. I don’t know what it is about that song but I find myself singing the chorus all the time.

It’s always the worst songs ever that get stuck in my head. For example, this week, my brain has tortured me with Rihanna’s “umbrella” song or whatever it’s called. The song makes no sense but I can’t get the umbrella-ella-ella out of my head! Heaven help me.

I think I get songs stuck if I’ve been listening to them–so it depends upon what I’ve been listening too. I don’t mind real songs–I HATE it when I get commercial songs stuck in my head though!

Man, I’m late getting here today. The song I have stuck in my mind right now is my theme song du jour: Watching The Wheels by John Lennon. Case in point:

“People say I’m crazy doing what I’m doing”

      and

“Ah, people asking questions lost in confusion
Well I tell them there’s no problem, only solutions
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I’ve lost my mind
I tell them theres no hurry
I’m just sitting here doing time”

Have a great day. Oh, and my Comment Friday post is up on my blog now too!

      Ok working backward:

Techsplorer – better late than never! Lennon isn’t so bad to have stuck in your head!! Just a thought too you may want to enable anyone to make comments on your blog not just blogger because it cuts out some people who want to comment but don’t have blogger accounts.

Matt – Indeed you could be my girlfriend hey hey

Ryan – Don’t know it, will have to check it out.

Culture – LOL now you’ll spend the next hour trying to get rid of that tune – good choice too.

Bonnie – commercials are the worst tunes to get stuck!!

Angela – Rihanna is really catchy isn’t she

Derek – Oh great choice!!!! Now I’ve got it in my head!!! Then I naturally progress to I fought the law…

Linda – just because it’s popular doesn’t make it right LOL

K – anytime I watch Armageddon I get that song stuck too

Nathan – I choose to ignore that LOL

Jason – I honestly don’t think I’ve ever gotten that song stuck in my head, people are always saying it’s catchy but not for me. Still like it, and remember it coming out too (arg showing our age)

Ed – at least it isn’t Rocket Man

Oh god whilst typing this Avril just came on the tv ….

It is Wicked sad that I have had the tunes from Wicked, especially “No One Mourns the Wicked” stuck in my head for a few weeks now since we played a medley of selections for our spring band concert (Stockton Concert Band) last night. And we kicked butt, too. The audience dug it. Just wish the tunes would give my head a break now that we’ve performed it . . .
