Increasing your Alexa Rank Free!

I’ve read many articles on how you should increase your alexa rank. Some mention adding the button, others say install the toolbar, and others even use the redirect url.

I’ve added the toolbar, because I think that’s an obvious way to increase alexa. By visiting your blog everyday with the toolbar, it can really get you under 1,000,000 rank or even under 500,000. (I’ve read someone using this on a brand new blog, but I can’t remember where. Someone please give me the link!)

What people don’t mention is using traffic to get a lower alexa rank.

Traffic? Thats obvious. I meant free traffic!

I know most bloggers are familiar with blogexplosion, blogmad, and blogsoldiers. There are more you can use.

Websites such as bestfreetraffic, ultracoolsurfin, and surfdummy provide free and easy ways to get visitors to your blog.

Surfing can be timely, but if you find a few minutes each day to log into these traffic exchanges, you can earn enough credits to last you for that day.

By using these websites you can expect anywhere from 5 to 50 visitors per day, if you have the credits. This can dramatically help you lower your alexa score.

Can you think of a better way to get a better rank than actually getting visitors?

It’s well worth installing the Searchstatus extension for Firefox, as that’ll do the same job as the toolbar, but also provide you with loads more information.

Don’t like traffic exchanges myself, as they’re usually very low grade hits, just people earning credits, not bothering to read. Plus, if you use Google Adsense they’re against the TOS and you’ll get banned.

If you want hits, write something worth a Stumble.

I added the RankQuest toolbar to Firefox. Which has been somewhat useful in lowering my Alexa rank. I guess it just takes time though.

What’s this “Stumble” that Chris is referring to?

*p.s. any news on the fridge? ^.^*

I prefer to focus on quality content than traffic exchange sites. Quality content draws traffic .. and it’s a more lasting solution than exchanging traffic.

If you are going to try and leverage traffic through a blog exchange what Chris says is really true – often your traffic has little real substance to it. It’s important then to spend a bit of time on your blogs appearance.

Yes it sounds shallow but people are more likely to cast a second glance if your site looks attractive, different and clear.

Rock on up with a plain blogger.com skin and your average punter will no doubt yawn, go back to what they were actually doing and wait the 30 seconds out.

Owen, the tip is just for lowering your alexa score. By using such traffic exchanges, you can get some quick traffic and dramatically decrease your rank especially if its over 1,000,000

Im not suggesting spending a lot of time with traffic exchanges, but it could help your traffic, alexa and that means more $ can be earned on your blog

When I first installed the alexa widget and the search status plugin for Firefox my alexa rank was at 900K+. Now I’m trying to break into the top 100K.

There are a bunch of auto traffic exchanges that are good at upping the alexa rank. However make sure your computer is tightly secured.. If it’s auto surfing it can be hard for you to notice if someone is trying to download a virus of some sort to you.

Security is an issue with autosurfers, They have taken over my computer when I used them.

I tried the redirect code today and it does not work.

Does anyone know if alexa has stopped the use of this code?
