Comment Friday for October 5th
Thursday night is always busy for me, Survivor, Ugly Betty and CSI. Shame on me for forgetting it’s friday, comment friday!
I’ve got so many article ideas that there isn’t enough time in the week to write them all. I will hopefully be announcing the comment friday winner, and the contest winners all tomorrow.
I just wrote a pretty good article on Having Integrity While Blogging that I’d love more comments on. This week for comment friday tell me about anything you want to. September just ended, Oct is beginning, then Halloween. How exciting.

Can you feel it too? My kids have that extra energy all of a sudden. Of course that only means that I need to figure out what to get them for the holidays. I just need to figure it out and get it before the official shopping rush starts.

We aren’t planning that far ahead. We still have to figure out what Matthew will be for Halloween

I feel it coming. I can get up in the morning and smell something different in the air. Jeans and a flannel shirt, a bit of frost on the grass and the anticipation of going duck and goose hunting for the first time of the season. Getting up at 4 in the morning, carrying a ton of gear out to the water and sitting in the cold and/or rain until the sun comes up. Yeah, most people would look at you and say. “what’s the matter with you.” To them I simply reply, “if I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand.” It’s the magical time of year when football, hunting, and good chili are the only thing that seems to matter.

We don’t even celebrate Halloween. We live out in the boonies and don’t even get trick or treaters… good thing probably as I don’t buy candy to give out because we don’t have anyone come this far out.

Sounds like you need a DVR. I have had one for several years now and it really does change how you watch TV. You could do whatever you wanted to on Thursdays and catch up when you get a change. Some shows like survivor are still best watched the night they air because it is too easy to hear who got voted off on the radio or other TV show. Sports are the same way. Hate having to say “DON’T TELL ME, I HAVEN’T WATCHED THAT YET!” all the time, but the time saved and flexibility is worth it.

I keep missing Survivor but normally it’s a battle between that and Smallville and I can’t watch CSI until I watch last seasons :/ I’m pitiful I know. I haven’t even worried about Halloween but already have clinics shut down for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Gotta think ahead around here or you get screwed out of vacations lol

Ah Fall, I love it, it’s finally down to the mid-90’s here in the Phoenix area, so we’re all pulling out our jackets and bundling up for those chilly 70 degree nights. Yup, I moved to the right area……at least for this part of the year anyway.

I’m thrilled that it’s finally cooling down a bit here in Nebraska. Of course, it usually goes from 100* to 50* in less than a week, but it’s nice to have some cooler days.
The only thing I’m not happy about October being here is the fact that this is the month from h*@l. What I mean is that we celebrate like 15 birthdays between the 1st and the 31st of the month. My daughter’s bithday is the 1st, hubby’s is the 7th, son’s is the 19th, and sister-in-law’s is the 20th. That doesn’t include all the aunts, uncles, and cousins that are also celebrating birthdays this month.
I love halloween as it marks the end of the month long birthday celebration. There isn’t a costume out there that is as scary as trying to buy birthday gifts for that many people in that short of a time.

Even with the temps still getting up close to 90, there’s definitely that feeling of Fall in the air. The nights are getting that crisp edge and the sun’s casting longer shadows. Ahhh, when Fall gets into full swing, the leaves start falling, and the overcast skies come along more frequently – this is truly my favorite time of year!
