Sponsored Reviews Launches Affiliate Program
- 17 Comment
One thing Sponsored Reviews was lacking was an affiliate program. Problem solved!
Blogger Referral
The blogger referral is kind of low. At only 5$ per blogger, the incentive isn’t very high to actively promote your affiliate link. Earning the 5$ plus a small percent of what the blogger makes each post would definitely be more enticing. Especially if you could manage to refer an active blogger.
When you refer a blogger you get paid once the blogger once they get a blog approved.
Advertiser Referral
As usual, the money is in referring advertisers. Sponsored Reviews claim you can earn up to 175$ per advertiser. The payouts are based on money spent by the advertiser.
The average advertiser spends “several hundred dollars” so you “should” get at least 25$ per each advertiser you refer. Of course, theres that strong chance that you get nothing.
Your referral payouts will be made once per month. The cookies set for your affiliate link is 180 days so that’s a great plus to the system.
Are you already a Sponsored Reviews member? If so, are you going to use their affiliate program? If you aren’t a member, are you going to join now?

I am glad to see that companies are more willing to give up more money for us to do work for them. Thanks for this post!

I’m a SR reviewer. Have been since May, I think it was. You can make good money if the advertisers find you. I agree, $5 isn’t much, but it’s a start. 🙂

I agree with Mark, a start is a start. I’ll probably sin up and promote; I just won’t go too far outa my way until I see some start to come in.
Where on the site did you see the program announcement?

Hello Matthew,
There is a chance that we will increase our payout for bloggers in the future (or add a percentage based on earnings), but as it stands there is no shortage of bloggers signing up, so it isn’t our top priority.
As for advertisers however, the average advertiser spends over $200 so there is a good chance to earn some decent money there. There are also a lot of advertisers that spend over $1,000 and $10,000.
Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks James for stopping by. However by giving more incentive for recruiting bloggers, we are more likely to display the affiliate link, that attracts BOTH bloggers and advertisers. For 5$ per blogger sign-up, and the off chance of recruiting an advertiser, it’s not worth it for most of us.
For the average blogger, we aren’t going to refer many advertisers.

Thank you for the feedback Matthew,
What payout would you suggest that would encourage you specifically to place the banner on your site?

James,
Well I wouldnt place the banner, but Id definitely be interested in promoting it more, through RSS Feed etc. I currently promote Text Link Ads a lot due to the payout of 25$.
What I was thinking was along with the 5$ affiliate referral, you would also get a % of the bloggers future earnings. Maybe 1-5%?
I’ve earned a total of 219$ to date. If someone referred me at the beginning (with 5% incentive) they would of earned a little more than 10$. Sponsored Reviews would still be earning that 30% per post, and it gives bloggers more reason to promote the sponsored reviews service.

Thank you Matthew,
We were considering a percentage and will take your feedback into consideration.
5% may be a bit high considering our total profit margin which is closer to 10% after transaction fees, server costs, employee costs (support, programming etc), bulk discounts to advertisers (up to 15%) etc..
Thanks again,
