Sponsored Reviews New Affiliate Program
A lot of the sponsored post affiliate programs are flawed. Pay Per Post affiliate program is a joke, while some of the others only pay when you refer an advertiser. Many bloggers don’t refer advertisers, if they did, they wouldn’t need the program in the first place.
I first reviewed the Sponsored Reviews Affiliate Program when it launched. The one thing they seemed to be lacking was an affiliate program. By having one they made their service that much more attractive to promote. Thats why so many promote Text-Link-Ads, due to their 25$ per referral payout.
Sponsored Reviews affiliate program wasn’t that bad, until they changed it.
New Affiliate Layout
I can understand the need for an advertiser to spend money for you to be paid for referring one. Depending on how much they spend you can earn up to 175$ for referring an advertiser. Not bad.
Where they went wrong is when they changed the blogger affiliates. Before they changed it, you could earn 5$ just for referring a blogger. I assume they must also get their blog approved first for the referral to count.
Now they must earn money for you to get credit for your referral. Your referral must earn 50$ before you even earn 5$! So if they earn 49.99$ you get nothing! For your referral to earn 50$, Sponsored Reviews earns about 17$ (35%).
To change that part of the affiliate program is pretty flawed, in that you could refer 100’s of new bloggers for their system and earn nothing. Looks like I am going to pull my feed ads promoting Sponsored Reviews!

Holy cow! You know, back when SR first made it on the scene, I was so excited. That was when their advertisers actually responded to my bids. Today? I have about 21 bids pending approval with the oldest dating back to Oct. 13!!
My blog has a very nice ranking, and according to SR I can charge up to $500 for reviews. I don’t, but it’s nice to know the value of my posts. Now we have to sift through all the plastic surgery opps and casinos — ugh! Sounds like they need to clean house.

I hear ya guys. Same deal here. Nice ranking, still bids just sit there. I haven’t even bothered to log in and bid on anything lately. I’m pretty tired of sifting through all the plastic surgery and casino crap that my buddy Mark griped about ;P
And yeh the referral system is lame. Very lame.

Matthew,
I’m not sure about the Sponsored Reviews affiliate program, since I don’t know very much about it; though I do know that I have one $5 payment pending for a blogger referral.
I’m curious, though, why you say that PayPerPost’s affiliate program is a joke. I have two $15 blogger referrals pending and have so far been paid $7.50 for one Review-My-Post referral, with a second pending.
I suppose it isn’t very likely that any $25 advertiser referrals will come through anytime soon, though. But, I don’t think the blogger referral compensation amounts are too bad, and the only downside is that you have to wait until 30 days after the referred blogger’s initial (approved) post to receive payment.
The greater problem that many PPP bloggers are facing right now is the fact that, as a result of Google’s apparent crackdown on paid posting, their page ranks have been dramatically slashed or totally negated, which drastically reduces the number and value of the PPP opps they qualify for. Because of this, PPP may soon become effectively obsolete for many bloggers.

With payperpost you only get paid for your affiliate when:
They get their blog approved, they do a post, and then have been paid for it. It takes forever to get approved and all that etc. Took me about a month to get an account for my girlfriend. It will be another month until her first post is paid out.
Some of the top PPP earners like Colleen etc, have dozens of “pending referrals” yet have only been paid for one or two.
thanks for the great comment 🙂

Matthew,
Thanks for your quick response to my comment! Only time will tell when I’ll actually receive payment for my PPP referrals. Stay tuned.

I was using SR and making some money just writing posts. Then I joined the referral program and in the first month, with only 3 bloggers, I got $15.
I was happy about that. Now I have 28 bloggers and 8 advertisers. Last payout would have been 08/28. My birthday, by the way. I was expecting to receive at least the same amount.
But I didn´t get any.
Now the next payout will be 09/25. I hope I get some money because it is not possible that at least one of those advertisers didn´t spend $100.
The problem with this system is that they are not as transparent as they should be.Claudias last blog post..Fighting back prank calls
