Comment Friday for April 20th
Hooray for Friday! Make sure to comment on our new look!
Comment friday is a fun and simple idea. Leave us a comment about anything you want. By leaving a comment, you will have your blog visited by me, and you may even get a link out of it. I will select a blog from the comment list to be linked to and have their link on our blogroll, until next friday.
We have many of the same commentors participating weekly, we are getting some great and fun discussions. Not only am I visiting blogs, but other people are checking you out as well.
Last week we did get 30 comments, but some were on Saturday. My goal has been to achieve 30 comments for sometime now, and I know we can do it this week.
Long time Comment Friday participant Polli won last week, and we are looking for a new winner this week! She really got noticed last week when she sent us a handful of visitors by posting about Comment Friday on her blog.
Get commenting, thanks for stopping by!
Have you entered our mini fridge contest yet?

Wow, I really like this theme guys. Feels more compact and much more focused on the content – just like you were trying to get it! I guess the challenge is to keep it sharp in the side bar while balancing the temptation of too many widgets with the need for widgets. Good luck!

The new look works well, good colour contrasts.
I know soliciting comments on a blog is a good way to show that people are visiting but it frustrates me greatly when comments are left on a post that have little to do with the content of the post and more to do with self-promotion. I’d be happier if people disagreed with what I’d written, at least it would stimulate debate.April 20th, 2007 at 1:58 am -

John – Matt and I were just talking about that. I really hate people who don’t read your post and just comment based on the keywords but then they obviously didn’t read the post because they miss the point.
So I can’t argue with you on this one!

Oh! You’ve all gone all green!
Well, it looks very nice indeed. And I like the overall ‘slickness’ of the place now, devoid of clutter.
Most agreeable. Well done!

I also would like to introduce myself…my name is Matthew Jabs and I run eJabs, a blog about good quality knowledge (on many levels).
I found BYAB after Matt had visited and became engaged with myself & Garry Conn on a few of my posts.
I have written a post on my site promoting BYAB because I like the concept and I can see that this blog is “well taken care of”.
I like the new theme, and I think the pic in the header is SWEET…did you guys create that? Photoshop? Pretty cool. I’ll be around…and you’ll definitely be hearing more from me soon.
Have a great weekend!
PS…have you ever considered installing the Subscribe To Comments plugin, so people can receive email notifications each time a new comment is written? It really helps for return visits to your site.

Just heard about your blog and Comment Friday from Matt at eJabs.com. Really neat idea and I like the theme although I am a fan of thinner header images. 🙂
No offense.. I know I am going to be stopping here regularly!

Great header, love the figure at the computer and the thoughts emanating from his head – at least I presume that’s what they are.
I guess, if I had to be critical it would be the title font, otherwise it’s superb. Not too keen on leaning / italic style fonts.
I see the page also fits into a small screen without the need to scroll, again a plus.
Well done,
Mike.April 20th, 2007 at 10:12 am -

First time I’ve visited this site! My comment today? As a mother of an Army Reservist, I am honored to announce the upcoming release of my newest book, “Secure the Fort (And Remain Under God), A Military Mother’s Message to America.” This will be the first in a series of military themed Christian non-fiction books under the title “Secure the Fort.” I am looking for submissions by other Christian military mothers for the next volume! Hi there,
I’m SUPER new to blogging so am finding out all sorts of good info, including the things I just read here on blog about your blog.
My blog is about the cat collars I make and my interesting, including my love for British period films.
I’m muddling through best as I can and hopefully one day it will all be easy and make sense – this linking, feeds, html stuff!

I must say I really like this new look. I think the 2 columns look much better then the 3 I think you had before plus it seems more fitting with the header image you have. Nice job!

I have to say right off the bat, what a great idea to have this contest right on your blog!
Also, very nice site that you have here, not only is it well designed, but also the content is fresh and informational. I really enjoy the layout and the colors are very pleasing as well.
I can not really comment on the old site versus the new site, but I love the header image, it reminds me of sitting at my desk typing like I am right now.
Thanks again for having this great blog – hope you really do get the chance to visit mine.Have a Great Day!

Mike – you picked up on the thoughts/imagery coming out of the back of the guy typing – I’m so happy someone did!!!! (I’m sure others did too but you said it!)
Nathan – cheers! I like to always acknowledge the base template no matter how much I modify it. It’s only right.

Yowza!!!! I absolutely love the new look guys. Very sharp. I totally spaced that it was Friday until a few minutes ago.
Actually I had good reason for my muddled brain though. My current blog theme has 3 or 4 issues and I am going to be redoing things a bit over there too (not as drastic as this change was though!).
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
