The Importance of Building your Stumbleupon Network

I was at my new favorite site, sphinn, reading articles that caught my eye. A lot of users there post articles about Stumbleupon. Stumbleupon has become a very popular tool, that many people use daily. So why not write about it?

According to many of our readers, a lot of them use it. Our readers who don’t use it would either like to, or haven’t gotten around to it yet. What are you waiting for?

Stumbleupon is just like any other network. The more active you are, and the more friends you have, the bigger your influence is. For example, if I stumble your page and leave a review you should get a nice flow of traffic. I currently have bookmarked 460 sites and I have 59 fans.

I found an interesting article on sphinn titled My StumbleUpon Friend. In this post it really shows you how important building your network is. “The stumbleupon friend” has bookmarked over 3400 pages, has 365 fans, and a network of more than 6500 stumblers. This particular stumbler wrote a review and stumbled a post of his. This ended up giving them over 25,000 visitors to that post.

Imagine building your profile that big and stumbling your posts. That could result in driving thousands of thousands of visitors to your website.

If you don’t use stumbleupon your missing out on a great service. Go to the site, register for an account, and download the toolbar. Don’t forget to add me as a friend once you do so.

How big is your network?

I don’t think my site is StumbleUpOn friendly. I love using it to look at others, but I don’t see that much potential for visitors using it to promote my site.

I think it is better with highly informative posts and posts that are almost advertisements for some product or genious idea. Oh, and great photos…those are awesome.

Do you think that some site topics do better? Or what is your opinion on a StumbleUpOn friendly site??

Glad I could help dana, I’ve been working on my network and friends list so hopefully my stumbles will be more powerful

Stumblefriendly? Sounds like a great post. Something that loads fast, catchy, and quick and easy content. Quick to lead, easy to read 🙂

I really like SU and have spent a lot of time there trying to figure out exactly how to use it. I have had some impressive (to me anyway) spikes in traffic because of SU. The problem is that it is not easy to use. If someone would go into detail about HOW to use it I believe they would find they had a very popular post on their hands. Or maybe I’m just a bumbler. But I have guys on my blog who are a lot more intelligent than me saying the same thing.

AWESOME article. I’m still fairly new to StumbleUpon so I had no idea that stumblers with large networks had more influence.
      I joined your network too.

      Thanks for the tips!

25,000 visitors to a website through the use of stumble upon is amazing.

I think that guy has spent quite a bit of time building up that network.

Content-writing and networking really goes hand in hand.
