Comment Friday for November 9th

TGIF. Recovering after an intense game of softball. I haven’t done that much running in a while. I’ve been wanting to do a little more, to try to get ahead, but I’ve been having some annoying computer trouble I can’t seem to get rid of. Might be time for a new computer.

Each friday we usually give one lucky person a free blogroll spot for a week, however last week we didn’t get that done. This time we will definitely be featuring a new blog. Want your free link? Get noticed, go above and beyond commenting.

I’ve been neglecting the movie theater and haven’t been able to see anything new. However with our blockbuster total access I can keep up with new releases. In the past two days we’ve seen Ratatouille and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Both were good in their own way, I’d have to give the edge to the Rat.

What’s the last good movie you’ve seen?

I just saw Stardust yesterday and it blew me away! It’s got everything (fantasy, adventure, romance, humour etc)! Although I may be a little biased since I’m a Neil Gaiman fan.

We saw “American Gangster” and – even as much as I admire Ridley Scott, Denzel Washington, & Russell Crowe – I thought the movie was just a nice assortment of cliches. No new ground covered, really, just a mashup of scenes and plotlines from half a dozen other (better) movies. Overall, not a bad film, just not really worth spending your time on either.

I’m like you. I never have time for the theaters but I really enjoy my Blockbuster Online subscription. Probably the best movie I saw recently from my queue was Astronaut Farmer. It was both humorous and touching. I would certainly recommend it.

I have been waiting to watch American Gangster. But, the last movie I saw was ‘The Haertbreak Kid’. Nothing special but the usual ben Stiller kind of comedy.

I saw 30 Days of Night 2 weeks ago. It wasn’t scary, but was okay as far as story goes. I hadn’t seen a movie in the theatre for about 3 years prior to that though.

      Have a great Friday….

Happy Comment Friday from Blog World in Las Vegas.

The last good movie I saw was the Die Hard movie this summer. I’m not normally into action movies, but Bruce Willis still “has it” and the movie captured my attention for the whole time.

I haven’t been to a cinema for a while (last movie was Harry Potter 5). Just too expensive and not really enjoy watching in the cinema. I would rather wait and record it from TV.

      Enjoy the weekend…

I don’t usually go to the theater. I’m one of those people who wait for it to go to video or hit the movie channels. LOL

The last really good movie I watched was The Contender, with Stone Cold Steve Austin. It was nice to see him do some actual acting, (other than is “day” job).

I prefer action flicks to chick flicks. Give me a movie where something gets blown up, and I’m a happy girl. 🙂

A CG cartoon, great one! Unlike the most from that drawer, this one is not made “safe for the family” though it might be safely seen with a family. It is fun, sometimes hilarious and can make you thinking after the show.
I loved the graphics. It is not an attempt to push berders of CG towards realism, but the great use of possibilities. Characters are caricaturized in a way that makes them even more real.
      A must see.

Lately I like to watch those so called “woman movies” 😉 to take some relax. The latest one which I like a lot was “Step Up”.
“…Everyone deserves a chance to follow their dreams, but some people only get one shot. Tyler Gage is a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimore¹s tracks and the only thing that stands between him and an unfulfilled life are his dreams of one day making it out of there. Nora is a privileged ballet dancer attending Baltimore¹s ultra-elite Maryland School of the Arts — and the only thing standing in the way of her obviously brilliant future is finding a great dance partner for her senior showcase. When trouble with the law lands Tyler with a community service gig at Maryland School of the Arts, he arrives as an angry outsider, until his skills as a gifted street dancer draw Nora¹s attention. Now, as sparks fly between them, both on and off stage, Tyler realizes he has just one performance to prove that he can step up to a life far larger than he ever imagined…”

Mrs Ed made me watch Breakback mountain. Apart from a few uncomfortable moments, it was a great film with plenty of story to get caught up in.

I almost never get to go the the theatre. Who wants to spend $30 at the theatre + at least that much for sitting!? Last time I went I saw “Pirates of the Carribean 3” with some friends. Before that my husband and I chaperoned with the youth group to go to a big drive-in-movied double-feature where we saw “Meet the Robinsons” and “Pirates 3”. After that we knew we’d just have to buy “Robinsons” which we finally did last week. So on Sunday we all watched it together as a family. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie! a great family film with a great message.

Matthew – I still haven’t gotten an e-mail from you. Should I submit another ‘contact’ form? (Yes, I am persistent!)

The most recent good movie I’ve seen?

Wow, that takes me back. The past few movies I’ve seen have been okay – not too good or too bad, but the one I distinctly remember recently watching is Pan’s Labyrinth. I regret waiting so long to have seen it; after all, it’s a masterpiece. The way it blends reality with fiction and uses symbolism is simply amazing and it’s gotten rave reviews from nearly everyone. It was truly beautiful and a surreal experience.

I don’t run enough either, although I keep trying.

My computer was driving me nuts too so I bit the bullet and installed more RAM. My computer now thinks it’s “all that.”

I recommend it highly. I have a company that can help you even if everyone has stopped selling your stuff! I gotta go find the receipt… wait… I got it… ya gotta love online banking! EDGE Tech Corporation is their name and it was quick and easy to get it here. They also returned my phone call when other companies did not!

I’ve seen several mediocre to bad films lately, but the last really good one I saw was Zodiac. There are several I’m looking forward to that are out now or coming out soon, with No Country For Old Men at the top of the list.

Movie? Seen a movie? Is that where you go into a dark cave-like room with rows and rows of seats and sit there and watch the moving pictures on the gigantic screen? If *that’s* what you mean, then it must be something along the lines of the first prequel to Star Wars. Kids are not movie friendly after that newborn all-I-do-is-eat-sleep-and-poop stage.

However, if by movie you mean any show longer than an hour, or something on DVD, I believe the last thing we watched was the original version of Father of the Bride. It was good, but I kept waiting for the sarcasm from Steve Martin, or the crazy antics of Martin Short. (I just had to go to IMDB and check that because “Martin” was in both names and I was sure that I had some sort of crossed neuron in my brain.) I guess I just like some movies with all their modern, sarcastic overtones.
