Comment Friday for November 16th

Happy friday! Thanksgiving is just a week away and all of my bills seem to be due at once. The money online just isn’t what I want it to be, so I’ve been trying to find other ways to make money. Nick and I are working on some niche sites, the first being about Hannah Montana. If it works right?
Each friday we usually give one lucky person a free blogroll spot for a week, last week Zybron had the honors. Want your free link? Get noticed, go above and beyond commenting.
Subscribing to RSS feeds through email has been huge, there are at least 3-4 contests I’ve seen in the past few days (including ours) where you are asked to subscribe via email.
Most bloggers read RSS feeds to keep up with their favorite blogs. Do you actually read feeds through email? Or do you just stick to bloglines or another feedreader?

I used to just go to the blog directly. Nowadays, I use Technorati instead. I found that is a very good way to keep track of my favourite blogs.

I prefer email subscriptions. Even if I usually get the notifications at the end of the day, thus hours after the post is published.

I much prefer email. To me, a feed reader is like putting something in “favorites”…I’ll check it every couple months, when I remember 🙂

I’m subscribed to a few blogs via email but I’m a bigtime Google Reader user. I’ve been selling all my friends on GR too.
Only problem is that my Google Reader RSS subscription list is getting a little massive. It’s tough to keep on top of all of the feeds that pour in every week!

I use my reader to read feeds. I am thinking about subscribing via e-mail for your contest. I get so much crap e-mail though, that e-mail has become an almost inefficient way of communicating. I have all the spam guards, but it blocks way to many of my good messages. It is all a little annoying… My RSS reader never has spam in it.

Google Reader all the way. I get too many emails to read as it is, so using a Feed Reader saves me the time from going through all the junk and picking out the good stuff.

In fact, it’s how I find out what’s going on here, as well as my other feeds. If I find an interesting post, I’ll click on the title and come to the site to read the rest. That way, each blog owner will get the traffic credit.

I just realized that I missed your question. Feedreaders for me as I only sometimes read the email ones. Normally I just save my favorite blogs in favorite and visit them. Or I visit them when they pop up on my mybloglog screen. I use to have feedreader on my browser but for some reason I dn’t on the laptop. Any suggestions?

try yahoo reader. lol. seriously, try one of the feed readers like yahoo, google, bloglines, etc. i would think that saving to favorites would eat up alot of your faves, plus you cant read updates thru favorites, like you can thru a reader.

Google reader is my choice. The email feeds aren’t bad but I get so much email that sometimes I just delete them without even looking at it.

I prefer email subscription because I can control the number of feeds I am subscribed to. When I get way too many emails than I can handle, I know it’s time for some ‘cleaning’, and I just have to give up the blogs I am not interested in anymore. That works for me. RSS readers wouldn’t urge me to get to that ‘cleaning’ phase. And I’d simply forget to check them.
