BAYB’s Blog of the Year
BAYB (blogaboutyourblog) is going to be launching a blog of the year award. Let me explain my idea.
First you may submit your blog, or someone else’s for consideration. I will use my own discretion as to which blogs will be accepted, but I am sure 99% of them will. You may only have one of your blogs submitted. The polls will be broken up into blogs of 5. The blog that receives the most votes in their bracket will move on to the final voting round. I’m hoping for about 25 blogs, so the finals should consist of 5 blogs or more. If it is a lot more again we will go another week. Each vote will be in week intervals, so you have plenty of time to get your votes in.
The winner will receive of course the title of blog of the year. All the results will be from your readers and ours, so you will need to promote for votes! I can offer possibly banner space on this blog, or some kind of featured spot for the winner. Ultimately it should drive a nice amount of traffic to your site, and a nice notch under your belt that you are doing something right! Just for participating you will get a free link to us pointing to your site.
Submissions start immediately, email me at ff_n_stuff@yahoo.com to get your blog on a poll. This will close in one week, and the voting will begin. I hope to see you submitting your blogs soon!
Thanks to Mike for the great feedback on this project.

…to everyone!!! Santa and “Twiglet” the Little Christmas Tree wish you the best holiday ever! Remember that there is more to Christmas than receiving gifts ~ giving of yourself to
make life better to those around you is pretty special. We extend a Christmas challenge to everyone ~ On Christmas day…wash the Christmas dishes for the cook! Or…round up all the wrapping paper, boxes, and bows and take it to the trash can outside! Or…give everyone around the Christmas tree a hug and tell them that they are special to you! We would love to hear what you did. (You have one week to decide what you will do!)

Starlos Kennels is the home of CCA American Cockapoos, known as Starlo’s Cockapoos. With a strict code of breeding ethics, owner/breeder Debbie Cowdrey is listed as a 6 Star Breeder with the Cockapoo Club of America.
On her website Debbie states:
At Starlo’s Kennels we breed AKC registered American Cocker Spaniel dams and AKC registered Toy Poodle sires chosen for excellent health and temperament to produce only the finest quality Cockapoos. Because Starlo’s Kennels is a Cockapoo Club of America Member and meets or exceeds the strict requirements that qualify our puppies as CCA American Cockapoos, Starlo’s Cockapoos are included in the CCA Registry to document the CCA American Cockapoo breed.
Our goal is to provide you with the perfect companion pet. We are working on breeding down the generations of Cockapoos. So, in the future, we will be breeding first, second, third and fourth generation Cockapoos. Every twelve months, all of our dams and sires have their eyes examined and certified free of genetic eye disease by CERF (the Canine Eye Registration Foundation),to insure healthy eyes for your beloved pet.
We certify our dogs to be free of genetic Patellar Luxation with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). The dam and sires registered names, AKC registration numbers, CCA registration numbers or OFA ID numbers are available upon request for verification through the OFA website.
Each Starlo’s Cockapoo puppy comes with supporting AKC registration documents to prove their parentage, a pedigree tracing their heritage back at least three or more generations, CERF documents on the dam and sires eyes, OFA documents on the dam and sire’s patellas, and a one year health guarantee that your puppy will be free of life threatening defects.
Check Your Credit Report
In the UK, and probably the rest of the world as well, it’s important that our credit standing is in good order. It’s advisable, therefore, that we check our Credit Reports to make sure that the information on file is correct. This will ensure that there is no one else using our details for fraudulent means. Also there shouldn’t then be any nasty surprises if we decide to apply for such things as a mortgage, loan, credit card, finance and so on.
What information is contained in a Credit Report?
Credit references agencies – the largest in the UK is Experian – collate information about your financial background and past behaviour and format this data into your unique credit report.

Lenders see this information when they decide whether or not to offer you a loan, mortgage or credit card. It influences their assessment of the likelihood that you will repay them.
Information comes from two main sources:
• Public records, such as court judgements, individual voluntary arrangements and bankruptcies. Your credit report also shows whether you are registered to vote – lenders use this as a precaution against fraud, to check that you are who you claim to be and live where you say you do.
• Information from lenders and financial institutions, such as records of the number of loans you have and whether you have ever missed a repayment.
It’s important that all this information is as up to date as possible and correctly reflects your circumstances. Then lenders will make the best-informed decisions – and you will get the right deal.
The easy way to check your credit report is to log onto CreditExpert, the credit monitoring and identity protection service from Experian.
Blogging on other sites does work!
It was cool to be invited to post on this “serious” blog, not what I expected when I first started the Pisstakers website, but this idea of cross-pollination is an interesting development.
So, after writing a deadly serious post about Swiki search, I took a look at our search stats. Spike, anyone! Most excellent, and proof if ever there was, that humor is unnecessary in explaining the world of on-line search. However, one less demoralising conclusion for me as a writer is that contributing to someone else’s webspace is a pretty good way to get exposure – even if one look at our link confirmed to curious visitors that there is no place in their blogging life for anything so web 2.0 as Swikis!
Hey, how cool would it be for serious bloggers to let their hair down once in a while and send a short rant or witty observation to The Pisstakers! 4 to 400 lines, not too many links and …? I know of at least one very serious Cornishman who writes in a suit, and he has a very wicked pen when he wants, so there must be other wits in less conservative clothes with equally rad stuff to get off their chest? If you are seeking some free expression and free traffic from our front page, why not email your post to editor@thepisstakers.com – it could change your life, and spike your traffic for at least a day.
There is money in searches!
Swikis
These are a different sort of search feature – search engine based, but built around a selection of keyword tags that the blogger inputs into the system. The keywords are organised in a word cloud, one of those fancy graphical lists that are becoming all the rage!
From the user’s point of view, you get a box of words that we have included from our articles in the various Pisstakers blogs. Click on a word or phrase, a search results page appears, and off you go, surfing the web. Usually our site appears in the list, and hopefully even an article related to the keyword, but if we don’t show, it doesn’t really matter. The idea we have is to use it as another form of entertainment, another springboard for people to surf, you know, in the spirit of the internet, set the user free! We know they will come back to us, because there is nothing quite like the Pisstakers.
Eurekster, provide all the code and the options to set up a color-coded presentation box, pretty much to your liking. There are many ways to customise the Swiki, including advertising slots involving Adsense, or your own affilaites too.
Eurekster also give you a ready reckoner of how much your swiki might be worth to a website buyer. We are at over $750 now, based on the $75-worth of clickthroughs we have currently generated, times a factor of 10, which is at least a starting point for negotiations, if it ever came to selling. (Probably more fun that fact at the moment, but search is going to get bigger over time, so why not get in on this company’s ground floor?)
Interesting feature, and free to use!! Our Swiki is here.
My Blog Update
I’ve just been updating my blog with my latest Weekly Report. This shows what I’ve managed to earn in commissions from affiliate programs and so on since I began my Mike’s Money Making Mission twelve weeks ago.
I’m not (yet!) making big money but I’m now over the $600 mark, which I’m happy with, considering I didn’t know quite where I was heading when I set up this first blog.
If you look at my report you’ll see that the major part of my money has come via friends and contacts affiliate programs and also those under the Commission Junction heading.
This week I also received money from myLot, so it’s nice to be able to confirm that they pay out on time (by PayPal). I’ve also had over 240 referrals from their site.
New articles on my other blogs include:
Prevent Identity Fraud + Free Credit Report (for UK Readers)
10 Sizzling Tips For Affiliates by Ken Hill.
That’s all for today.
Good blogging,
Mike.
