Blog Addiction
I have created my 3rd and last blog, hopefully. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do with it but I figured it out. This blog is the only blog I write by myself. I have some information about advertising as well as different posts I’ve written on traffic exchanges, forums and getting traffic.
You can also find my short adwords experience, as well as my new bidvertiser advertising experiment. There are other money making opportunities I will be trying as well, that I will let you know how they turn out.
Don’t forget to submit an idea for a domain name! It will take me a little longer to accumulate 110$ it will cost for hosting at HostMonster. Thats set for 2 years but its the best deal. Of course you must pay upfront, and not month to month otherwise it would be simple. If you are interested in donating let me know, when the website goes up and forums Ill give you a special section or something nice.
So don’t forget to stop by my blog, Blog Addiction

myLot Earnings & Referrals
There has been quite a bit of interest on various blogs about the worth of myLot, so I thought I’d throw in my two-penny worth as well.
I covered the subject on my own blog recently in a post called myLot, Money and Referrals but I thought I’d publish a few figures here.
So what can you earn?
Well it’s a lengthy old business to make money by simply commenting and starting up discussions. To make it a more viable you really need to refer others to myLot. I see this as the only way to make it financially worthwhile. With referrals you get 25% of what they earn, so this could possibly add up, if you can introduce enough people.
I’ve been with myLot now for 21 days and, as an illustration, this is what I have earned:
From discussions $15.25
From photos $0.11
From referrals $9.91
This is a total of $25.27.
But there’s more.
I feel that the main benefit from myLot is the visitors that I have had to my blog. There have now been well over 200 hits from their site. Mind you, I haven’t been backward in leaving my blog address whenever possible! I mention more about this in my blog’s post, which I mentioned earlier.
My conclusion is that myLot is worth joining, if you have the time – providing you can introduce referrals and use it to promote your own blog.
Good blogging,
Mike.
Pinstripes & Ponders
Many people are familiar with notification services like Bloglet. They’re nice because they allow readers of blogs to keep up-to-date with the latest posts at blogs they frequent. The same can be achieved with RSS feed readers too. But all these services are limited in their ability to deliver content (and sometimes their not the most reliable).
As an author, it’s crucial to keep those who are interested in my work updated. For this reason, I also publish a monthly newsletter that combines my writing news with my blogging endeavors. It’s titled “Pinstripes & Ponders” because this quick little publication nicely ties together the primary things I cover as a blogger and author of books, articles and more.
The next issue is scheduled to be broadcast on New Years Day and will contain the release information of my upcoming book “Baseball in Fort Wayne” as well as a promotional video and a contest where you can win a FREE signed copy of my book. To sign up, just click the image below and complete the quick registration. If you’re a BE user, make sure you enter your BE user name and maybe I’ll send you some credits just for subscribing!
My Weekly Report
It’s the end of the week for me, as regards my blog Mike’s Money Making Mission. This means my latest post is my Weekly Report. I publish this each week showing what I have earned and from where, my top referrers and so on.
I’ve been going now for eleven weeks and I’m pleased that I have achieved one of my targets, which was to try and make $500 by the end of this year. I know this is an insignificant amount compared with some bloggers achievements but I’m still chuffed.
That’s the good thing about making targets and objectives it keeps you motivated and, when you reach one of your benchmarks, it gives you encouragement as well.
I’m off to buy a good bottle of red wine to celebrate. Okay, maybe two bottles!
Good blogging,
Mike
P.S. It’s also good to see that Blog about your Blog brought me 22 referrals last week – thanks!
Soapbox Jury
Soapbox Jury, as the name implies, is a brand new site for voicing opinions and passing judgement. The exact purpose of Soapbox Jury is to critique websites (mainly), products, services and ideas. We will try and give a balanced, fair and honest review of any item we include. Whatever the content of a Soapbox Jury review it will heighten awareness of the item featured. We are particularly keen to review the following:If you have a website that is targeted at a wide range of people (no password protected or group sites) then submit it here for some publicity. You’ll get a backlink just for suggesting it. If we select it for review then you will get a couple of paragraphs of comment and a screenshot published.
We’re also interested in reviewing blogs – the work of individuals instead of businesses. We’re not aware of any other site that provides independent, third-party reviews of blogs at the moment, so hopefully Soapbox Jury can fill this niche. If you successfully get a review of your blog/website you are guaranteed to get at least one backlink, a full paragraph of comment and a screenshot published.
Soapbox Jury prefers web reviewing, but we’ll also review products or services if requested to. Please only ask for a product review if that product is readily available to us for testing.Every website/blog that is submitted will receive at least one backlink, guaranteed. We will also consider whether your site is suitable for the BlogRolls of our 4 other sites – you could get up to 5 links pointing at your site just for suggesting it! Backlinks to your site are important for building up search engine traffic and increasing your PageRank.
Everything a beginner needs to know about Digg.com
I recently submitted a few of my articles to Digg and I have been unsuccessful with getting ‘dugg’.
Even without getting diggs I have attracted viewers to my site. Not only visitors, but quality visitors. They are looking under my topic, and clicking my titles to view what I wrote.
For 24 hours your stories will be on the “upcoming” pages, basically getting viewed. From what I understand if you get diggs your story remains on that getting placed more prominently with the more diggs you get.
How do you get diggs?
First attach a button to your article on your site. You can find digg buttons under the ‘tools’ section.
One thing I like is that you are allowed to ask for diggs, opposed to some advertising sites etc where you can’t ask for clicks. You can email friends and/or family your topics so they can ‘digg’ them. Viewing and digging your friends topics are actually encouraged and made easier with the friends activity feature. I can see, view, and vote for all my friends articles with just one click.
In conclusion, you may not get on the elite front page which is supposed to get you thousands views, but for the common blogger like myself, everything counts. Regardless of the diggs you get, you are sure some visitors to follow. A handful, or a thousand, its good enough for me.

Hit Exchanges Produce Artificial Results
After yesterday having a pop at Blog Directories, saying that most are a waste of time, the latest post on my own Blog is about the Hit Exchanges – Blog Mad, Blog Explosion, Blog Soldiers and the like.
My opinion, after giving them a good trial, is that they too are not worth the effort. All they produce are cosmetic statistics that are of little value. To see the full post please click here.
I think that’s my moans out of the way now and, hopefully, I can dwell on the more positive aspects of blogging in the future.
