We haven’t done our Comment Fridays in a while. I’ve been a little busy doing quite a bit of marketing as well as working on new projects. My newest, just announced, ContestLive.com looks like it could be fun.

If this is your first Comment Friday we give one lucky person a featured link as our “blog of the week“. Along with that we are also giving that winner 250 entrecard credits.

With our post about Bloggers Selling Sex, it got quite a response. In the post I mention overall it is important to have images in the post. Do you usually include images with your posts?

The Jamie Kennedy Contest has done pretty well. A lot of different blogs has picked up the contest. However, many of the posts about the contest weren’t valid submissions. Therefore we really only have a handful of entrants.

Contest Live and the Contest Live blog are my newest projects. I’ve gotten a lot into marketing contests and of course running my own. This was really just necessary. I’m looking to make it easier for everyone to run and promote their own contests. Contest Live is a voting network where you can submit and vote for your contest, or any of your favorites. The blog just really compliments that.

I was notified about this great opportunity about blogging for cancer. Bloggers are more powerful than they realize, I always like putting blogging to good use.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Recently several people that have been in my life have either been diagnosed with cancer, or have, unfortunately, already passed away from cancer.

A huge percentage (It was on the news, something like 60%) of people will have cancer at some point in their lives. Sadly it’s a real possibility that you or someone close to you has cancer. Something needs to be done about it.

To raise awareness of the program, you can blog about it. At Friends of Heroes they have different information about different events to help out. The latest is their light the night walk.

I really wish there was more information on the contest post. To get the “good” information you really have to click a few links.

Affiliate Obsession

This blog is run by a great online contact of mine, John Sukowaty. He has a handful of blogs, with one of his newest being Affiliate Obsession.

He has a few interesting articles about DealDotCom and his PPC campaign with the free facebook ads he used. You can also follow how he is doing with his new eBay website that seems to have become popular with affiliate marketers.

Browsing several blogs I’ve noticed many are using images. That usually is a good thing, images can really compliment a post. However, the going trend has been adding “hot chicks” and celebrities to posts.

Bloggers Selling ‘Sex’

I’m not sure how making money online has to do with Carmen Electra or Paris Hilton. I’m not going to display the images as it would kind of defeat the purpose, but if you’ve seen recent MMO bloggers you’ll know what I mean. It’s kind of offensive for readers trying to learn about the latest plugin or the newest affiliate program, and have a huge picture of an almost naked woman posing at the beach.

Although there isn’t as many women MMO bloggers as there are men (althought that number is increasing) I’d have to imagine it would be a turn off for women to read those blogs. If I was posting men in speedos every other post, I’d have to imagine I may lose some readers. I lost a read over the mention of adult images, how would it effect readers by actually posting them? And yes, some of these bloggers images are, in my opinion, ADULT.

Hot bikini models and cars fell together (somehow), so is making money online and models/celebrities next? Or am I just overreacting?

Has anyone else noticed these images and felt they were innappropriate as well? Or is it a good marketing tactic to include these women?
