Send Stumble Requests to Your Stumbleupon Friends
After a few quick emails with Kelly Curtis from Pass the Torch we began discussing Stumbleupon. I mentioned the Send To feature, but she had never used it before. Getting your stumble friends to stumble your posts is another way to utilize stumbleupon for more stumbles and more traffic.
How to Use the Send to Feature
On your stumbleupon toolbar there is a “send to” feature. By clicking that it lists all of your stumble friends. Instead of emailing each one separately when you want to promote an article you can simply use this feature.
For this feature to work the person has to be your “mutual” friend. I currently have 20 ‘mutual’ friends that I can send my stumble requests to.
Once you send them a request, there will be a number next to their stumble button. This will indicate that there is a request. The next time your friend presses the stumble button, they will be sent to the page you that you ‘sent to’ them.
Get Your Stumbles
I am always looking for new articles to submit and stumble. An easy way to do this is requesting me as a friend and “sending” them to me.
Another option on stumbleupon is the ‘contact’ page. This way you can send private messages to users on stumbleupon. This is a great way to use stumble to build your base and increase your votes. I get plenty of requests a day, so don’t worry about bugging me! Send them on over.
How do you promote your articles on stumbleupon? Have you used the Send To feature?
Monetize Your Blog With OIOPublisher
Are you looking to monetize your website like the pros? Get the great looking 125×125 and 468×60 banners, text link ads and sponsored postings delivered, paid and rotated automatically with the brand new OIOpublisher WordPress plugin.
To all of you Blog About Your Blog readers, this is Jim, author of TheNetFool.com (feed), a business blog focused on making money online through the stock market, affiliate marketing, get paid to (GPT) websites and more! But enough about me, lets explore this great opportunity.
Lots of bloggers face the problem of adding advertisements to their websites in a quick and efficient manner. The brand new OIOPublisher direct WordPress plugin allows you to do all of this automatically. Truth be told, this is the
first (and only) WordPress plugin I have ever purchased. At $37, its not cheap… but it completely beats out WP Text Ads ($127) and WP Bankroll ($50).
Not only is OIOPublisher a cheaper alternative, but it is much more functional! Unlike any other WordPress monetization plugins before it, OIOPublisher offers an all-in-one solution for bloggers. You can place banner ads, image ads, text ads, sponsored postings and even sell digital downloads! I use it on The Net Fool to rotate all of the 125×125 banners in the sidebar. You can have multiple banners rotated per ad slot, and even randomize the appearance of the banners. OIOPublisher is your swiss army knife of monetization!
With all of the functions and a terrific price tag, you may be asking yourself how hard this thing is to actually install and
use. I had this plugin up and running within 30 minutes of first downloading. It is extremely easy, and after you activate it.. there is an entire new tab (labeled “business”) that opens up in your admin panel. You can have emails sent every time an ad is purchased, clicked, etc. A full flux of options makes OIOPublisher the only option I will ever use for putting ads up, and best of all the one-time $37 buys you a license to use the software on multiple servers.
I know that the initial shock of shelling out almost $40 for a WordPress plugin, most of which are free, is a bit much. If you are a somewhat popular blog, all you need is a couple of purchases to get that all back. No longer do you have to sacrifice 50% of your revenue to a service that handles the work for you, now you can do it yourself. I’m always looking for ways to make money online, there is no better way in my book than by monetizing your own blog site. OIOPublisher makes it easier than ever!

Blogger Interview with Karthik of Shankrila.com
Due to a large demand I have decided to bring back Blogger Interviews. The first two I chose were obvious choices due to their dedication to BAYB.
I’d like to introduce our first as Karthik Ramadoss from Shankrila.
I asked Karthik aka K-IntheHouse several questions about blogging in general. Here is his answers
What is your age? Where do you live?
I am 30 and live in East Lansing, MI
What do you do when your not blogging?
Watch movies with my wife, play in a pool league & a volleyball league
What are your favorite blogs? What type of blogs do you usually read?
Too many to say. Technology (obvious), WordPress, SEO & blogs about blogging.
What do you enjoy most about blogging?
The sense of community it brings around a blog, making friends and the constant learning to stay ahead of the curve. Plus tinkering with WordPress!
How many blogs do you have?
2. Shankrila.com where I write and SpicyTasty.com where my wife writes.
What is the best feature on your blog?
Firefox extensions.
Why did you start blogging?
I was getting tired of emailing my friends about the useful/fun/time wasting stuff I find on the Internet.
Now, everyone can read what I find.
Why do you blog?
What started as an attempt to share my finds has eventually helped me learn and understand a whole new world of marketing, networking, advertising, etc that comes into play in trying to monetize a blog. Plus, it has gotten my wife getting started with her WordPress development work by managing our own blogs. It’s just so much fun to watch those RSS numbers go up every morning.
Do you have any upcoming projects?
Setting up a WordPress/Web design portfolio/blog for my wife’s freelancing work.
Why did you choose your topic for your blog?
I love trying new software & web services. Now, I can tell my readers what I think about it even when it’s in beta. It’s easy to write about what you are really fond of.
What are your goals?
I have considered creating niche blogs but I have found my interest lies with what I do in ShanKri-la. I have hit 300+ RSS subscribers this year and hope to reach 600+ by the end of the year.
Where do you get the majority of your traffic?
- 50%+ -Google
- 30% – StumbleUpon
- 20% direct/referring traffic
We’d love your opinions of BAYB, anything you’d like to share.
BAYB is a great idea and I saw it early on and am a part of it. Although I haven’t written anything lately, I just need to find the time as I have tons to share with your readers. It’s a thriving community and I am proud to be a part of it.
After interviewing him, he has expressed interest in posting more on BAYB and we love having him. Stay tuned for great posts from K-InTheHouse in the future!
Do you think you should be interviewed? Contact us and tell us why!
Comment Friday for March 7th
I am excited about this weeks comment friday. The fam and I have been pretty busy with potty training. I’ve also been working on my new Freebie Fridays. I’m also proud to announce BAYB has finally broken into the 600’s in RSS feed subscribers!
If this is your first Comment Friday we give one lucky person a free weekly blogroll spot as our “blog of the week“. Along with that we are also giving that winner 200 entrecard credits.
I thought we should do another edition of Stumble Comment Friday! I want you to post your best recent article for me to stumble. My favorite article will be chosen for our Comment Friday winner. Please feel free to stumble this post and add me as a stumbleupon friend.
How Did You Start Blogging?
This has to be a popular question for anyone who is successful at blogging. How did you start? If you asked me what blogging was a few years ago I would have no idea that it was even a word.
How I Started Blogging
It was a dark and stormy night. No, I’m kidding thats a little too dramatic.
Actually I wasn’t working and I knew someone who made money online. He suggested starting a blog. Pick a niche and write. So thats what I did. Figured out blogspot and started writing about Fantasy Football.
It’s not the best story, but it has opened up great opportunities. Being a blogger has allowed me to build a little income and enjoy doing it.
What I like most is that if I feel that blogging isn’t for me then I could always sell, blogs and websites hold a great value.
Making money blogging has taken a little longer than I expected. I’ve been doing it a year+ now and I’m not in the place I hoped I would be. I’ve learned a lot, at least 23 things, so I can’t imagine quiting now.
Whats your story?
How did you start blogging? Why? Who motivated you to blog? Or maybe, someone has motivated you to keep blogging.

Freebie Fridays at Its All Free Online
Comment Fridays have been great here, so I figured it was time to run more promotions on my blogs.
Everyone that reads Its All Free Online are looking for free samples. I figured the best way to grow and get even more readers was to give them what they want.
Every friday I will be giving away a free product sample or freebie to one of the email subscribers. To enter for your free sample all you have to do is subscribe via email. Each week I will randomly select one email on the last and send them a free sample. You MUST confirm your email address to be eligible.
This friday’s freebie will be an Arizona Iced Tea keychain.
I have plenty of freebies to give away and I am definitely looking forward to the results. In the upcoming weeks I plan to give out giftcards and more. Make sure to subscribe!
Entrecard Credit Winners
I posted a quick entrecard giveaway on Sunday. I was a little disappointed that we only had 8 total entries. I appreciate the entries we did get. There will always be more contests!
I gave each entry a number and used random.org to chose three.
The numbers 7 3 and 1 are the winners
First Place Mark – 500 Credits
Second Place Dennis – 250 Credits
Third Place Erz – 250 Credits
I hope to get a big contest going soon that will of course include giving away more credits.
