Stay Organized With WebAsyst

Written by Mark MeAndMyDrum | Fave MAMD | Subscribe to MAMD

WebAsystOnline organizers have been on the rise for quite some time. Some are just mirror images of each other, but you may find WebAsyst a bit different.

What is so different about WebAsyst?
For starters, the interface is uncluttered and intuitive. Access to its tools are located at the bottom of the window: files, photos, contacts, mail, projects, issues, notes, and pages.

Efficient use of space is apparent because you have the option of going normal or full-screen mode. Users can be created and given different levels of access to the content stored in your account. So if you’re looking for a tool for your team, this one could be the solution you’re looking for.

File storage
Files can easily be uploaded, and you get a generous 17 MB to do so. Instead of sending files to people you can send them a link to it. So no more having to update something and sending it out to others. Just have them return to the file you have in your account.

Photo album
I especially like the ability you have to drag-and-drop photos from your computer’s desktop and into your browser window. Once you’re done, click the finish button and the upload commences. Beats having to do them one at a time. And when you click on a thumbnail, you’re given an “actions panel” where you can add things like description, or rotate the image, change the title, email it to someone, or copy/move it to another photo album.

Stay in touch with Friends
The screenshot below shows a couple of folders allowing you to categorize your contacts anyway you want them. In addition to all the pertinent details, you can add an image to their profile if you like.

Email
I don’t recall seeing many (if any) online services like this one that include an email system built right into the thing. Create folders for easy storage. You can also create templates, which is a pretty nifty time-saver.

Project tracking
To be honest, it’s not like Microsoft Project, but that’s okay. Create an unlimited number of projects. And something I haven’t seen very often is the ability to view projects with a Gantt chart. Create customers and reports, assign tasks, track costs and choose whether a task is billable or not.

WebAsyst

Track issues
Sort of like a to-do list, you can easily sort your tasks along with several other features. For instance, you can filter the view by author, group, status, timing, and issues assigned to you. And don’t forget the reporting capabilities on all of that.

WebAsyst

Keep notes
You’d expect something like WebAsyst to include a notes feature — a universal need. But where this tool is unique is its ability to print these notes in a variety of templates. Either use the pre-built ones or create your own with a robust HTML toolbar editor.

Create online books
Yes, books. In fact, this is one of my favorite features as I can see a lot of potential coming out of this one tool alone. When you create a document you can publish it which will include access to your pages in the left navigation. You can even choose from several color theme options to give it a little kick. Just think of how you can offer this to clients for referencing status reports. No more missed emails or hefty files to send.

AuctionAds Giving Out 25$ for New Members

AuctionAds has a new promotion going where ALL NEW PUBLISHERS will receive 25$. Just for registering you will get 25$. They had a similar promotion before, where they gave new publishers 5$, so it’s a big increase. They haven’t stated how long this promotion is going to last so don’t waste any time!

If you also have been a publisher but haven’t earned a payout (like me) your balance will be bumped to 25$ as well. However with that, the new minimum payout will be raised to 50$. I’ve had a hard enough time earning 12.28$, but you may have more success than me.

The Importance of Building your Stumbleupon Network

I was at my new favorite site, sphinn, reading articles that caught my eye. A lot of users there post articles about Stumbleupon. Stumbleupon has become a very popular tool, that many people use daily. So why not write about it?

According to many of our readers, a lot of them use it. Our readers who don’t use it would either like to, or haven’t gotten around to it yet. What are you waiting for?

Stumbleupon is just like any other network. The more active you are, and the more friends you have, the bigger your influence is. For example, if I stumble your page and leave a review you should get a nice flow of traffic. I currently have bookmarked 460 sites and I have 59 fans.

I found an interesting article on sphinn titled My StumbleUpon Friend. In this post it really shows you how important building your network is. “The stumbleupon friend” has bookmarked over 3400 pages, has 365 fans, and a network of more than 6500 stumblers. This particular stumbler wrote a review and stumbled a post of his. This ended up giving them over 25,000 visitors to that post.

Imagine building your profile that big and stumbling your posts. That could result in driving thousands of thousands of visitors to your website.

If you don’t use stumbleupon your missing out on a great service. Go to the site, register for an account, and download the toolbar. Don’t forget to add me as a friend once you do so.

How big is your network?

UK Loans

logo3.jpgIf you are an avid online user, you will most likely check the internet for deals when you are looking to purchase something. The same thing goes when your looking to invest, get a credit card, or search for a loan. That’s why sites like Uk Personal Loan Store are available.

If you are searching for a loan, they will compare over 250 loan plans for you so you can find cheap loans. This particular loan site is more based to the UK, however you can get tons of information there. On their sidebar is a list of several types of loans including homeowner loans.

I definitely like the set-up for this type of site. The navigation is good, simple and easy. Each page you go to has a description of the type of loan that it is. If you look at unsecured personal loans you’ll see what I mean. This makes it even better for search engines to rank the site per keyterm. They also use several keyterms within each page linking to themselves.

SEO Isn’t That Hard

For a long time I didn’t bother to try to “optimize” this blog for search engines. I didn’t really know anything about it, and it all seemed to complicated. I’m sure now there are more “tricks” that can be done here, but we get pretty steady incoming google traffic. We got well over 1,000 searches last month alone.

Keyword Targeting

This has to be the hardest thing to figure out, once you know what keywords to go after it isn’t that difficult. We’ve chosen such keywords as blogging tips.

Promote your Keyword

Once you’ve figured out which search term you want to rank for, then it’s time to go after it. The easiest thing you can do is blog about the keyword you are targeting. Make sure to include it somewhere in the title. If you have a unique URL, you may want to target a keyword in it. It has helped our rankings that we have “blog” in our name.

Building Links with your Keyterm

The best way to rank on a search engine for a certain term is to get linked to it by multiple websites. There are many ways to do so.

First you can obviously pay for links. Make sure to target blogs and websites that are indexed in google, and ideally have pagerank. I have a small blog network that I’ve used to help people rank for certain key terms at a low cost.

Secondly you can ask people who have added you to their blogroll to change their links. On some blogs our anchor text is Increase Website Traffic and on others it may be Blogging Tips.

Don’t forget about the do-follow bloggers. These links apparently don’t carry much weight, but it does give you a link.

The most effective thing that you can do is become a top commentor on as many blogs as you can (don’t spam!!!). Not only will this build backlinks to your blog, but you’ll be getting tons of links with your keyterm. Make sure to use your keyword as your “name” when leaving a comment. I’ve compiled my own list of sites that use top commentors, however there is a public list of top comments at Web360. There is roughly 20 blogs listed that use the top comments. The majority of these blogs have low amount of comments so it should generally take a few comments to get listed, which should take less than a few minutes.

With the top do-follow and top comment method we ranked on page #1 for increase website traffic in under a month (2-3 weeks).

We’re Gonna Pay You to Blog

As I mentioned yesterday in our earnings update, I have come up with a way to reward our top contributors to our blog.

I will give away 35$ per month to our top 3 contributors. That will be determined on the traffic sent to their articles. I will use firestats for the totals. I will only count the articles written in each month. If an old article catches stumbles from last month, it won’t be included.

Our top author will earn 20$, second will receive 10$, and third will receive 5$. If you write a weekly article and promote it, you definitely have a shot at a little money. Money + blog promotion, nothing can beat it.

If you aren’t an author please contact me about your interest. I would really like to know which kind of articles you can contribute. It would be even better to provide me something that you would want published here.

I hope this method can earn us even more money so I can turn around and give it back to our authors and readers! More contests!

August 2007 Earnings and Stats

In July we improved our earnings from 95$ to 215$. Let’s see if we earned more in August. These earnings only reflect the money made from Blog about your Blog.

Traffic has continued to go up. We had problems with our awstats, but statcounter reports 11,280 unique visitors for the month of August.

Our most popular articles for the month include:

Another great month for our rss feed subscriptions. Our subscribers increased by about 60, from 222 to 285!

Our Earnings

The most important thing, well to some, is the earnings total. This month you will see a trend of private sales rather than networks.

Google Adsense      7.65$
Text Links Ads          10.38$
PayPerPost                70.50$
Private Ads                120$
Direct Reviews          100$

That brings the total to 308.53$. We still have plenty of deals available for you to advertise with us. There is monthly space available on the sidebar for 10$, and rss feed footer space for only 6$ per month. We are also interested in selling banner space on the sidebar or footer. If you are interested in advertising with us please use the contact form to let me know.

Since we are earning a decent income per month, I will be giving away 35$ per month to our top 3 contributors next month as well as more contests on the way.
